After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Joseph, Altamont was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Wayne Badgers 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Longhorns as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Altamont was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (102-101), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-23, 25-17, 21-25, 15-12.
Altamont's win bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Wayne, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Altamont is on the road again on Tuesday to play Tabiona at 7:00 p.m. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Tabiona has lost three straight at home , while Altamont has lost five on the road.
