Basketball Game Preview: Taholah Chitwhins vs. Ocosta Wildcats

The Taholah Chitwhins will head out to face off against the Ocosta Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Taholah took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Lake Quinault, posting a 75-12 victory. The contest marked the Chitwhins' most dominant win of the season so far.

Meanwhile, Ocosta hadn't done well against Hoquiam recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Ocosta strolled past Hoquiam with points to spare, taking the game 55-39. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Taholah's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Ocosta, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Taholah lost to Ocosta on the road by a decisive 70-51 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Taholah, Xander Prigmore (who almost dropped a double-double on 35 points and nine rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
