Softball Preview: Dulaney Lions vs. Eastern Tech Mavericks
For the first time this season, Dulaney will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out on the road to challenge the Eastern Tech Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Dulaney is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Friday, Dulaney made easy work of Sparrows Point and carried off an 11-1 victory. Considering the Lions have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Dulaney got a massive performance out of Kimani Dennis, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Lila Gordon, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI.
Dulaney was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.
Hereford hit Eastern Tech with a four-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mavericks fell 12-7 to the Bulls. The Mavericks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Dulaney's record now sits at 9-0. As for Eastern Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Dulaney couldn't quite finish off Eastern Tech in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 and fell 5-3. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
