Basketball Recap: Marcus Fossett's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rowe-Clark over Hansberry

Rowe-Clark was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hansberry Bengals. The Masai Lions were probably out for revenge after losing 72-57 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Rowe-Clark lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Marcus Fossett, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 14 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Fossett has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasean Knox, who posted 14 points.

Rowe-Clark's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Hansberry, they moved to 4-9 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Rowe-Clark will venture away from home to challenge Butler at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Butler will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Rowe-Clark surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hansberry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Johnson at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
