Basketball Recap: Friendswood Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Friendswood had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-35 victory over the Ball Tornadoes. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Tornadoes back in December of 2024, they had to take a 64-55 loss.

Ball's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rai Lacy, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 12 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Kalyn Toussaint, who posted ten points and seven assists.

Friendswood has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season. As for Ball, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.

Friendswood and Ball should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Friendswood will square off against Santa Fe at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 332 places (266 vs. 598). Similarly, Ball (ranked 522nd) will meet Texas City (ranked 1260th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
