MaxPreps selects a Medium Schools All-American football team at the end of the season. Following are 10 candidates for the Medium Schools Player of the Year honor.

Myles Brennan, St. Stanislaus (Bay St. Louis, Miss.)
The all-time leader in Mississippi in passing yardage and touchdowns, Brennan has completed 955 passes in 1,413 attempts for 14,387 yards and 158 touchdowns in his four-year career at St. Stanislaus. He led the nation in passing as a sophomore and is on his way to a third-straight year with over 5,000 yards passing. He completed the regular season with 3,231 yards passing (231 of 324) with 40 touchdowns and no interceptions.

Tristan Gebbia, Calabasas (Calif.)
Calabasas is one of the top medium-school teams in California with Gebbia leading the way. As a junior, Gebbia threw for 4,435 yards and 45 touchdowns. Through nine games this year, Calabasas is 9-0 and he has completed 179 of 248 passes for 2,794 yards and 32 touchdowns.



Jaelan Phillips, Redlands East Valley (Calif.)
A MaxPreps Preseason Medium Schools All-American at defensive end, Phillips has 107 total tackles, including 65 solo tackles, with 10 tackles for loss and 11 sacks. Phillips (6-foot-6, 250) has committed to play next year at UCLA.

Nick Gerber, Levelland (Texas)
One of the leading passers in the nation, Gerber has been on fire all season long for Levelland with 4,076 yards passing and 59 touchdowns. His lowest yardage output is 297 yards and he has thrown for over 500 yards twice, including 563 with a season-high nine touchdowns against Andrews.

Tony Brown, East Central (Moss Point, Miss.)

Brown is one of the leading rushers in the nation with an average of 260 yards per game. A junior, Brown has carried 314 times for 2,862 yards and 36 total touchdowns in 11 games. He ran for 401 yards in a loss to St. Martin and he also had 354 yards against Greene County.

De'vonta Smith, Central (Brooksville, Fla.)
Smith has had some of the biggest single-game outputs in the nation this year, as he has rushed for over 400 yards in a game three times. His best outing was a 491-yard effort with seven touchdowns in a 63-28 win over Weeki Wachee. He also has single-game totals of 425 yards and 420 yards. He has gained 2,453 yards on just 222 carries with 27 touchdowns.

Andrew Chatfield, American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.)
A standout defensive player for the Patriots, who are ranked No. 1 in the nation by MaxPreps for medium-sized schools, Chatfield has 52 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss and 13 sacks.

Stone Matthews, Saguaro (Scottsdale, Ariz.)
Ranked second among medium schools in the nation, Saguaro is 10-0 this year with the running back leading the way. He has rushed for 1,621 yards on 175 carries with 23 total touchdowns. His best game came against Marcos de Niza, when he rushed for 307 yards and six touchdowns.

Logan Thut, Crestwood (Mantua, Ohio)
One of the leading scorers in the nation, Thut has posted 40 rushing touchdowns to go with one touchdown on a kickoff return and one on an interception return. He has 284 points on the season and has rushed for an average of 240 yards per game in leading Crestwood to a 9-1 record. He's rushed for 2,405 yards on 262 carries.



Jaylen Warren, East (Salt Lake City)
Warren has led East to an 11-0 record, including a win over perennial California powerhouse De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) and a No. 24 national ranking. He has rushed for 2,426 yards on 192 carries with 29 touchdowns and is averaging 220 yards per game.
