Preview: Adelanto Saints vs. Canyon Springs Cougars
The Adelanto Saints will be playing at home against the Canyon Springs Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Adelanto will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Last Thursday, Adelanto's game was all tied up 6-6 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 34-27 victory over Victor Valley.
Mario Smith had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 173 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Smith's longest rush was for an incredible 85 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Shakir Collins, who rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Canyon Springs fell victim to Rancho Christian's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Eagles, falling 42-0. Canyon Springs just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Adelanto's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Canyon Springs, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5.
