Volleyball Recap: Marion Comes Up Short

Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Richmond Red Devils. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Giants of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Richmond was led to victory by Jenna Johnston and Katie Mathena. Johnston had seven aces, while Mathena had five aces. Those seven aces gave Johnston a new career-high.

Marion's loss dropped their record down to 2-28. As for Richmond, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-17.

Marion didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Kokomo on the 11th. As for Richmond, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Lafayette Jefferson on the 11th.
