Soccer Recap: Calhoun Takes a Loss

Calhoun's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the El Campo Ricebirds. While losing is never fun, the Sandcrabs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 565th, while the Ricebirds are ranked 254th).

Calhoun's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for El Campo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Looking ahead, Calhoun will square off against Columbus at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Calhoun is facing Columbus at the right time seeing as Columbus is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for El Campo, they will face off against Hallettsville at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
