Basketball Game Preview: McDonald Blue Devils vs. Memorial Red Devils

The McDonald Blue Devils will face off against the Memorial Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McDonald will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

On Saturday, McDonald didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Mineral Ridge, but they still walked away with a 60-55 victory.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Memorial, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Mineral Ridge with a sharp 70-50 win on Friday. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

McDonald better keep an eye on Josue Rodriguez. He was instrumental in Memorial's win, going 12 of 25 on his way to 30 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Rodriguez continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Teyon Harris Jr. was another key player, going 6 for 9 to rack up 15 points and four steals.

Memorial smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Memorial's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.8 points. As for McDonald, their record now sits at 15-5.

McDonald and Memorial were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in January, but McDonald came up empty-handed after a 55-54 loss. Can McDonald avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
