Recap: Pender Patriots vs. Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs

The Pender Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 70-57 to Wallace-Rose Hill. Pender has not had much luck with Wallace-Rose Hill recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Pender's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cyrus Page, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Hansley, who scored 14 points.

Pender's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pender will square off against West Columbus at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Columbus is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, they will head out on the road to take on Kinston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Kinston's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while Wallace-Rose Hill has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
