Basketball Recap: Edisto Comes Up Short

Edisto lost against Bridges Prep back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Edisto Cougars took a 49-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bridges Prep Buccaneers. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bridges Prep was led to victory by A Wilson and Q Young. Wilson dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 boards, while Young dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wilson has scored at least a third of Bridges Prep's points. C Arroyo was another key player, putting up five points.

Edisto's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Bridges Prep, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-5.

Edisto will square off against Barnwell at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Edisto is facing Barnwell at the right time seeing as Barnwell is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Bridges Prep, they and Hampton County will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Hampton County will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Bridges Prep surely won't give up without a fight.
