Volleyball Recap: Hebron Comes Up Short

Hebron was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Griffith Panthers. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Griffith got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elena Rivas out in front who had 14 digs. Those 14 digs gave Rivas a new career-high. Jasela Rutherford was another key player, getting ten digs and two aces.

Hebron's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Griffith, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coincidentally, Hebron and Griffith will both be playing East Chicago Central the next time they take the court. The Panthers will head out to face the Cardinals at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Hawks will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
