Baseball Game Preview: Southridge Spartans vs. West Boca Raton Bulls

For the second straight game, Southridge will face off against West Boca Raton. The Spartans will take on the Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games Southridge has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Southridge heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Thursday. They fell just short of West Boca Raton by a score of 7-5.

For West Boca Raton's part, Max McDougall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits. McDougall has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alejandro Rodriguez was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Fallacara-Saunders, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

West Boca Raton has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-15 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Southridge, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-11.
