Softball Recap: Magnet Cove Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Magnet Cove made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Parkers Chapel, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over the Trojans on Wednesday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by six runs or more this season.

Tayla Tanaka was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Tanaka was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Mailynn Tanaka was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Madison Schlosser was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Magnet Cove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory snapped Magnet Cove's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-6 record. As for Parkers Chapel, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Magnet Cove will square off against Lake Hamilton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Parkers Chapel, they will welcome Harmony Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
