The Bell Bulldogs will face off against the Dixie County Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Dixie County took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Bell, who comes in off a win.
Bell took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Countryside Christian by a score of 14-10. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Jayden Lopez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances. He has become a key player for Bell: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-9 otherwise.
In other batting news, Jorge Gonzalez and Rocco Iovinelli did most of the damage at the plate: Gonzalez scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Iovinelli scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. What's more, Gonzalez posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Dean Glass was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3.
Bell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Dixie County suffered their biggest defeat since March 12, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Saint Francis Catholic, falling 7-1. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Gray Wampler was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases.
Bell's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Dixie County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bell has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Dixie County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bell couldn't quite get it done against Dixie County in their previous meeting two weeks ago as they fell 5-2. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
