Recap: Newton Falls Tigers vs. Liberty Leopards

Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up ten more assists than your opponent, a fact the Newton Falls Tigers proved on Tuesday. They strolled past Liberty with points to spare, taking the game 50-31. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Newton Falls.

Newton Falls got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Carson Howard out in front who scored 12 points along with five assists and five steals. Howard is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Huff, who scored 17 points.

Despite the defeat, Liberty saw an underclassman step up: Luke Bates scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. Julius Ferrell was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds.

Newton Falls now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Liberty, their loss was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5.

Newton Falls will head out on the road to face off against Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Memorial focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Tuesday. As for Liberty, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Crestview at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th.
