Basketball Recap: Dane Kunz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Whiteland over Plainfield

Whiteland lost against Plainfield back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Warriors took a 64-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Quakers.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dane Kunz, who shot 62% from the field to rack up 19 points and seven rebounds. Kyle Edwards was another key player, putting up eight points.

Noah Smith had a dynamite game For Plainfield., dropping a double-double with 16 points and 17 boards. The contest was Smith's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Harper Baker-Lands, who went 5-for-11 en route to 16 points.

Whiteland's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Plainfield, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Whiteland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-62 victory against East Central on the 6th. As for Plainfield, they have also already played their next matchup, a 75-65 win against New Albany on the 6th.
