Baseball Recap: Murray Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

While Murray didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Lamoni Demons on Friday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

The win (which was Murray's third in a row) raised their record to 7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Lamoni, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Coming up, Murray will challenge Moulton-Udell at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.23 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lamoni, they will head out on the road to face off against Ankeny Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
