Basketball Recap: Nandua Comes Up Short

Nandua was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 75-55 to the Arcadia Firebirds. Even though they lost, the Warriors' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.2 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Despite the defeat, Nandua saw an underclassman step up: sophomore DaQuais Harmon went 6-for-9 en route to 16 points. Harmon continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Aiden Mcintyre, who made all 5 shots he took racking up 10 points.

Arcadia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Cropper led the charge by going 8-for-20 to rack up 23 points and eight rebounds. The matchup was Cropper's third in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryheim Pettit, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards.

Nandua's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Arcadia, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

Nandua has already played their next contest, a 94-40 defeat against Pocomoke on the 14th. As for Arcadia, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 75-65 loss against Lancaster on the 14th.
