Softball Recap: Cumberland County Find Success

Cumberland County took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Warren East, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Raiders on Tuesday, sneaking past 6-4. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Raiders back in March, they had to take a 15-6 loss.

Cumberland County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Warren East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-11 record this season.

Cumberland County will venture away from home to take on Green County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games the Dragons have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Warren East, they will host Central Hardin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bruins will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
