Softball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

If Jefferson was feeling good fresh off their 12-2 takedown of King two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Jefferson lost 13-4 to the Riverview Sharks on Tuesday. The Dragons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Sharks from their previous meeting back in April of 2022.

Jefferson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madisen Fleming, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Riverview, they now also have a winning record of 5-4.

Looking ahead, Jefferson will square off against Leto at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Leto has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14 runs per game on average), something Jefferson will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Riverview, they will face off against Lakewood Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Riverview's pitchers better be ready for this one: Lakewood Ranch has averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
