Soccer Game Preview: Deer Valley vs. Estrella Foothills

Deer Valley hasn't had much luck against Estrella Foothills recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Deer Valley Skyhawks will head out on the road to square off against the Estrella Foothills Wolves at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Estrella Foothills will be up against a hot Deer Valley squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Deer Valley's defense stepped up to hand Westview an 8-0 shutout on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Estrella Foothills won against Agua Fria on Thursday with eight goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Friday. Estrella Foothills put the hurt on Peoria with a sharp 8-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wolves.

Deer Valley's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those five matches. As for Estrella Foothills, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-8-1 record this season.

Deer Valley might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Estrella Foothills in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Deer Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
