Football Recap: Piedmont Falls to Salesian College Preparatory in First Game of Season

Piedmont kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Salesian College Preparatory Pride, falling 41-17. The Highlanders were not able to make up for their loss to the Pride from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Salesian College Preparatory got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Izeah Buchanan out in front who threw for 220 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes. The Pride's leading receiver Carlton Perrilliat Jr was Buchanan's top target yet again, picking up 92 receiving yards and three TDs.

Looking ahead, Piedmont will take on Middletown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Salesian College Preparatory, they will challenge Moreau Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
