Basketball Game Preview: Evart Wildcats vs. McBain Ramblers

Evart hasn't had much luck against McBain recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Evart Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the McBain Ramblers at 7:00 p.m. Evart will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

While Evart didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They enjoyed a cozy 43-28 victory over Montabella on Saturday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 404th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, McBain took their game back in December of 2024 with ease, bagging a 68-37 win over Kingsley. The Ramblers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 29 points or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for McBain and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Evart, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.

Evart was taken down by McBain 64-23 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Evart avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
