Football Recap: Lima Senior Piles Up the Points Against Start

Lima Senior waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 43-0 win over Start. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Lima Senior's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 217th, while Start is ranked 490th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lima Senior to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ja'Niaus Avanti K'Mere Hall, who threw for 363 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 104 yards on only nine carries. Those 104 rushing yards gave Avanti K'Mere Hall a new career-high. Amontrae Davis was Avanti K'Mere Hall's top target, picking up 130 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 40 yards and one score.

Lima Senior didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jay Jones. Jay'Von Batts was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Lima Senior's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Start, their loss dropped their record down to 3-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lima Senior will take on Bowsher at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Start, they will face off against Southview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
