Softball Recap: Palatine Takes a Loss

Palatine extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 13-16-1 in the process. They lost 15-9 to the Resurrection Bandits. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 4-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Resurrection, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-11 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Resurrection's part, Molly Reichenberger was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Reichenberger a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Kruszewski, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Palatine wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-2 loss against Schaumburg on the 19th. As for Resurrection, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-0 win against Payton College Prep on the 19th.
