Whitefield Academy falls short of Rabun County in the playoffs

Recap: Whitefield Academy WolfPack vs. Rabun County Wildcats

The Whitefield Academy WolfPack and the Rabun County Wildcats squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Whitefield Academy WolfPack had to settle for second. They were dealt a 42-14 defeat at the hands of the Wildcats. Whitefield Academy's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Whitefield Academy still got an impressive performance from Ian Weihe, who picked up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown. Weihe's longest reception was for an incredible 77 yards.

Rabun County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reid Giles led the charge by rushing for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Ty Truelove, who threw for 217 yards and two touchdowns.

Whitefield Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Rabun County, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Whitefield Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rabun County is on the road again on Friday and play against Brooks County at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Brooks County: 18, Rabun County: 16.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
