Softball Preview: St. Clairsville Red Devils vs. Indian Creek Redskins
The St. Clairsville Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Indian Creek Redskins at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Clairsville comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
St. Clairsville is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since March 28, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Shadyside by a score of 10-8. One positive for the Red Devils, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Indian Creek didn't have quite enough to beat Buckeye Local on Monday and fell 8-7. The Redskins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
McKenna Scott put in work while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off three triples, three runs, and one RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Riley Sadler was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Even though they lost, Indian Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
St. Clairsville's record is now 0-6. As for Indian Creek, their record is now 1-3.
