Basketball Recap: Blue Ridge Comes Up Short

Blue Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the Seton Catholic Sentinels. The Yellow Jackets lost against the Sentinels in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 77-38 score last time.

Kj Fauske had a dynamite game for Seton Catholic, putting up 28 points. Those 28 points gave Fauske a new career-high. Jack Toyne was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Blue Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Seton Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Blue Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-31 loss against Coolidge on the 2nd. As for Seton Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-59 win against Baboquivari on the 2nd.
