Baseball Recap: Edison's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Edison entered their tilt with Carteret on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Ramblers 9-1. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Brayden Roma spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Dom Innocenti was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Edison is undefeated when Innocenti posts three or more RBI, but 9-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Calantoni, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Edison's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-11. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Carteret, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-10.

Coming up, Edison will be playing at home against Robbinsville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Carteret, they will head out to face off against Perth Amboy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
