Football Recap: McCamey Badgers vs. Colorado Wolves
McCamey's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 40-24 win over the Colorado Wolves. The high-scoring effort was just what the Badgers needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.
A big part of the victory came down to the chemistry between Aiden Torres and his top target Edgar Quinonez. Torres threw for 305 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes while Quinonez picked up 231 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Quinonez also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making seven total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging two interceptions which he returned for a touchdown.
McCamey's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. Quinonez picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Colorado still got an impressive performance from Ryland Senter, who rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and also threw for 164 yards and a touchdown. 95 of those passing yards were hauled in by Jeremaih Green.
The win got McCamey back to even at 1-1. As for Colorado, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
McCamey will face off against Christoval on Friday. As for Colorado, they will square off against Tahoka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Tahoka focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Friday.
