Softball Recap: Cordova Lancers vs. Foothill Mustangs

Cordova stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Foothill Mustangs an 18-0 shutout. The victory was familiar territory for Cordova who now have three in a row.

Isabella Tarpley-Cruz was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Tarpley-Cruz has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive pitching appearances. Tarpley-Cruz was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4.

In other pitching news, Alyssa Lacayo looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Briel Brookins and Adriana Arana did most of the damage at the plate: Brookins scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4, while Arana went 3-for-5 with four RBI, a stolen base, and a run. Brookins is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in the last three games she's played.
