Recap: Walker Valley Mustangs vs. PURE Academy
There's no place like home for The Walker Valley Mustangs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with a 21-8 win over PURE Academy on Friday.
Evan Schwarzl got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Walker Valley's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.7 points per game. As for PURE Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walker Valley will take on McMinn County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McMinn County will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. PURE Academy will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on TDW Academy at 6:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
