Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They had just enough and edged out the Smithtown East Bulls 1-0.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-17.

Smithtown East's defeat dropped their record down to 16-3-5.

Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Smithtown East, they will square off against West Islip at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
