The Central East Bengals will venture away from home to take on the Clovis North Broncos at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central East is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Central East needed a bit of extra time to put away Buchanan. They had just enough and edged out the Bears 6-5.

Kaia Galaviz spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 19 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Central East let Ella Bakholdin and Addy Imber run wild. Bakholdin went 2-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Imber went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those RBI marked the first that Imber has brought in this season. Mel Mendoza was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one run.
Meanwhile, Clovis North came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Cougars as they made off with an 8-0 win.
Zoey Thomas was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Brynn Gentry, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Central East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for Clovis North, they pushed their record up to 18-4-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
Both Central East and Clovis North just can't seem to miss. The Bengals have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Clovis North struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Central East was able to grind out a solid victory over Clovis North when the teams last played back in April, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bengals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
