Recap: Tiverton Tigers vs. Smithfield Sentinels
The Tiverton Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They suffered a rough 54-30 loss at the hands of Smithfield. Tiverton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Smithfield apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jenna DelDeo, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. DelDeo scored a full 43.3% of Tiverton's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jah'niece Branch, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds.
Tiverton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Smithfield, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Tiverton will be home for the holidays to greet West Warwick at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully West Warwick focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Wednesday. As for Smithfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Moses Brown at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
