Basketball Recap: Downtown Doral Dolphins vs. Reagan Bison
The Downtown Doral Dolphins's game on Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Reagan and snuck past 35-32.
Downtown Doral got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Andrea Mole out in front who scored 20 points. Isabella Osorno was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Reagan's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrea Alvarez, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Alvarez has been hot recently, having posted five or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Naranjo-palma, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Downtown Doral's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Reagan, their defeat was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-15.
Downtown Doral will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on February 5th. Ransom Everglades presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Dolphins in Florida (the Raiders are ranked 230th, while the Dolphins are ranked 582nd). As for Reagan, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Golden Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on February 1st. Miami Springs is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
