Legend and Valor Christian are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. Legend will face off against Valor Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Valor Christian took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Legend, who comes in off a win.
Legend took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Eaglecrest as Legend made off with an 11-1 win. The Titans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Tyler Houston looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Colton Brush, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Ty Wold also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.
Legend always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Valor Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Calvary Day.
Valor Christian also got a good showing from Sennon Lawrence, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Lawrence a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
On the hitting side, Valor Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Travis Kenz, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Trystan Chadwick was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Legend pushed their record up to 3-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Valor Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
