Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Emry Mclaughlin and Kinsley Gabelman Lead North Hills Christian to Victory

North Hills Christian proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 36) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Covenant Classical Warriors 47-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since January 28th.

Leading North Hills Christian to victory were Kinsley Gabelman and Emry McLaughlin. Gabelman posted 13 points in addition to seven boards and five assists, while McLaughlin went 7-for-12 on her way to 14 points and seven rebounds. Those 14 points gave McLaughlin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellison Dendy, who earned eight points and three steals.

North Hills Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Covenant Classical, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. North Hills Christian will square off against Gray Stone Day at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Covenant Classical, they will head out to take on Faith Academy Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 58 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
