Football Recap: Lakeland Preparatory Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Connor Jones and Anden Quinn

It was a proper cat-fight when Lakeland Preparatory duked it out with Bolivar Central on Friday. The Lions took a hard 24-7 fall against the Tigers. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lakeland Preparatory's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Anden Quinn, who picked up 157 receiving yards, and Connor Jones, who picked up 91 receiving yards and one score. Quinn was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 51 yards. Brett Godwin was another key player, having thrown for 295 yards and onetouchdown.

Bolivar Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Colton Mayfield out in front who threw for 166 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 34 yards. Those 166 passing yards gave Mayfield a new career-high.

Lakeland Preparatory's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bolivar Central, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
