Softball Recap: North Central Wins Going Away Against Gorham Fayette

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Edon, North Central was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on Gorham Fayette with a sharp 11-1 victory. The win continues a trend for North Central in their matchups with Gorham Fayette: they've now won three in a row.

Amara Wright spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, North Central got a massive performance out of Bre Gendron, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave Gendron a new career-high. Emmi Hollstein was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-8. As for Gorham Fayette, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Central will take on Hilltop at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gorham Fayette, they will face off against Edon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bombers have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
