Basketball Recap: Dayton Dust Devils vs. Hug Hawks
Dayton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Hug Hawks, falling 58-27. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dust Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-34 last Friday.
Cori Carrier was her usual excellent self, going 7 for 10 on her way to 21 points in addition to six steals and five boards for Hug. That makes it five consecutive games in which Carrier has scored at least a third of Hug's points. Another player making a difference was Andrea Trujillo, who posted ten points and four steals.
Dayton's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Hug, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Dayton and South Tahoe will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hug will take on Eureka in a holiday battle at at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Eureka will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Hug surely won't give up without a fight.
