Recap: Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins vs. Lower Richland Diamond Hornets
It was a good run, but the Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 45-35 to Lower Richland. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Orangeburg-Wilkinson of the 45-31 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Maurion Gordon, who scored eight points along with six rebounds, and Jeremiah Jacques who scored six points along with three steals.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-6. As for Lower Richland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson will be playing in front of their home fans against Brookland-Cayce at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Brookland-Cayce will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Orangeburg-Wilkinson is ranked 42nd). As for Lower Richland, they will head out on the road to challenge Dreher at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lower Richland is coming into the match with six straight victories on the road, meaning Dreher will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
