Basketball Game Preview: Chaparral Pumas vs. Redlands East Valley Wildcats + How To Watch

The Chaparral Pumas will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Redlands East Valley Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Chaparral picked up another tournament win last Thursday. They took down Perris 68-51.

Meanwhile, Redlands East Valley waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Titans 81-41. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Redlands East Valley had a senior duo take command as Demaj Moore went 6-for-14 en route to 19 points in addition to eight steals and five assists and Dariel Bahamontes dropped a double-double with 23 points and 14 boards. The game was Moore's sixth in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Mason Young, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 12 points.

Redlands East Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Redlands East Valley's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Chaparral, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Chaparral and Redlands East Valley were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, but Chaparral came up empty-handed after a 72-71 loss. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Moore, who almost dropped a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds.
