Volleyball Recap: Avery Crain Key Part of Team Effort in Firebirds Win

Chaparral won the last time they faced Verrado and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Firebirds blew past the Vipers 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Firebirds.

While Chaparral won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-13, 25-20.

Chaparral's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Avery Crain, who had 16 digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Crain a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Caprice Cooper, who had 20 digs.

Chaparral's record now sits at 2-0. As for Verrado, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Chaparral will head out to square off against Arcadia at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Verrado, they will host Ironwood at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
