Baseball Recap: Chardon Hilltoppers vs. St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish
Chardon scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 17-3 margin over the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish. The win was some much needed relief for Chardon as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Chardon got a massive performance out of Ty Roediger, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Buth, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
On St. Vincent-St. Mary's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Christie, who went 1-for-1 with two RBI.
Chardon's victory bumped their record up to 15-10. As for St. Vincent-St. Mary, they dropped their record down to 16-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Chardon will look to defend their home field on Friday against Highland at 5:00 p.m. As for St. Vincent-St. Mary, they are on the road again on Friday to play Archbishop Hoban at 7:00 p.m.
