Baseball Recap: Navarro Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Navarro had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 18-run drubbing they dealt Pearsall on Tuesday. The Navarro Panthers blew past the Pearsall Mavericks 19-1. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Mavericks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Matthew Villanueva was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those doubles marked the first that he hit this season.

In other batting news, Colt Brown was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Brown is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Noah Rosas was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one triple.

Navarro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Navarro's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.5 runs. As for Pearsall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-10.
