Softball Game Preview: Central Square Redhawks vs. Jordan-Elbridge Eagles

The Central Square Redhawks will take on the Jordan-Elbridge Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Square has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight losses, while Jordan-Elbridge will come in with three straight wins.

Central Square lost 16-3 to Fulton on Tuesday.

Maddie Greismeyer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Payton St.Clair, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jordan-Elbridge). They blew past Homer 13-3 on Wednesday. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Abby DelFavero was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Cameron Fraher was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Annabella D'Arrigo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Jordan-Elbridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Jordan-Elbridge now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Central Square, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
