The home team had come away the winner the last five times Waltrip and Sharpstown had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Rams blew past the Apollos 49-20 on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Apollos: they've now won four in a row.

Waltrip got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zyon Gamble out in front who rushed for 72 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries. The dominant performance also gave Gamble a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). James 'Jimmy' Haren was another key player, rushing for 24 yards and one TD.

Waltrip didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Justin Henry and Keshuan Palmer. Waltrip received some extra help from Antonio Adame, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Waltrip's record is now 4-1. As for Sharpstown, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Coincidentally, Waltrip and Sharpstown will both be playing Galena Park the next time they take the field. The Rams will host the Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Apollos will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
